If you are a beginner or a professional photographer who is looking for a camera that would suit your personality and style, Canon has released EOS Rebel XSi with point-and-shoot ease. With the latest innovation, Canon EOS combine Cleaning System, Live View Function, DIGIC III Image Processor and 12.2 megapixel CMOS Sensor, EF-S 18-55mm f/2.5-5.6 IS lens with Optical Image Stabilizer. EOS ergonomic design includes 3.0-inch LCD monitor, compatibility with SD and SDHC memory cards and whole lot of new accessories for your photographic experience.

Canon cameras and EOS Digital Rebel has always been my personal choice. For years, a lot of people had bought EOS XTi (400D) which prompted Canon to introduce their next generation of EOS XSi (450D). With the release of this model, they also changed the naming of camera word “Digital” to EOS Rebel XSi or EOS 450D.

There have been a lot of improvements which includes new image processor, DIGIC III but still uses the same 1D Mark III. This gives a digital to analog conversion of 14-bit, auto focus improved, noise reduction, high ISO and automatic correction of contrast and brightness. With the new processor, it allows you to take pictures at 3.5 frames per second or simply 6 six consecutive shots without break, or 45 RAW images in JPG format but still with high quality photos. It also has a 3-inch LCD screen and that it promises you that your battery will last 50 times longer than any other cameras and batteries used without you changing the form factor dimensions.

Traditionally, most professional photographers use CompactFlash memory cards. But Canon has changed all that and started using SD and SDHC cards which can be found in models commonly used by amateur costumers. And the price remains the same as the pioneers: approximately $800 for the body with 18-55mm lens, f/3.5 optical image stabilizer. IS or image stabilizer is only found in professional lenses. The first Canon Rebel became available in mid 2008 and with all its improvements; it is truly the best camera available in the market today.

It is housed in a compact body that weighs only 475 grams with an improved grip design to provide the user a natural and ergonomic fit. It has a large and bright view finder which makes the image composition clearer. The menu systems are simplified tab structure that does away with scrolling. It also includes My Menu tab for instant access to frequently used settings for you to build a better photos.

For the first time in D-SLR, Live View modes let you take shoot from awkward angles such as ground-level macro or shooting using a tripod. Images captured in Live View mode are displayed in a 30fps video feed on your 3.0” LCD. When in studio environment, remote Live View lets you take photos and adjust setting from your PC using the supplied EOS utility software.
